Following days of persistent rain in northern India, Captain James Ogilvie is one of many British soldiers ordered east from Peshawar to help with the evacuation of flooded Patna. Meanwhile, news filters through that the flood-bound Rawalpindi-Calcutta train, carrying 100,000 pounds worth of gold belonging to the Raj, has come under attack from the Pathans. Once again, Ogilvie is sent to the rescue.
